The Scripps Ranch Fire Safe Council (SRFSC) has been authorized and funded by the U.S. Forest Service to remove the flammable ground fuel behind the North Pomerado homes between Semillion and Avenida Magnifica. This will provide a 100 foot fire break between the homes and Pomerado Road.

The work was done on City Open Space and will conform to the City Brush Management guidelines. Areas showing signs of erosion will be avoided. The work was conducted by the California Conservation Corps in 2006 and a tree service in 2008.
