Moselle
Chapter

Description

The Moselle St. Project was completed in September 2005. This project was done in three phases. The first phase started on 31 January 2005. It began with the removal of duff and dead or dying eucalyptus trees from the backyard hillsides of the homes on Moselle Street. This work is most visible from Avenida Magnifica and Medoc Lane. The work was performed at no cost to the homeowners by the California Conservation Corps (CCC).

In phase two a professional arborist identified the larger trees that were dangerous or fire hazards. These trees were removed by the homeowners with support for the Chimney Canyon Fire Safe Council.

In the last phase People for Trees provided five trees of the homeowner’s choice to those homeowners who chose to participate. Many of the trees can be seen from Avenida Magnifica and Medoc Lane..
